Hi Pete!
For our final “Meet The Team” of 2021, it’s Pete’s turn to be in the spotlight!
Pete is one of our Account Directors at Telescope, which means he’s a key contact for some of our biggest client accounts.
Day to day, his role involves quoting, taking briefs, scheduling and the hands-on design and artwork itself.
“I like the challenge of understanding a brief and delivering a project efficiently but the most rewarding part is at the end of the project when you (and most importantly the clients) are really happy with the outcome, and all the hard work is on show. I also love the fact that my role is varied, so a project can last as little as 30 minutes to as much as 3-4 months.”
Pete is super creative, and loved Art and Design throughout school, so his lifelong passion has been to develop skills in those subjects. (Fun fact – His school careers tests concluded that he should have been a Signwriter, as he said he’s like to do something creative and also enjoyed the outdoors)!
He’s a brilliant member of our team, and is one of our go-to people for anything design-led.
“It’s great working at Telescope. On an individual level, the flexible working hours and hybrid working is a real plus for me. On a wider level everyone is approachable, which adds to the team vibe.”
5 Questions for Pete...
Outside of work, what do you like to get up to?
These days I spent a lot of time on DIY projects at home (one of my unexpected skills is bricklaying!) I also love walking or running (preferably in scenic countryside). I used to do a lot of (trad) rock climbing – A couple of favourite climbs were on sea cliffs. Low grades but awesome exposure!
What makes you really happy?
My family and friends, and a massive walk with a pub at the end!
What 3 items would you bring to a desert island?
A football, my jukebox and a quad bike.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
This is difficult. Llanberris, Snowdonia is one of my favourite places. I love the old slate industrial landscape, mountains – it reminds me of childhood holidays.
What’s the greatest album of all time?
Difficult again!! Probably “The Stone Roses” by The Stone Roses. (Though when I’m working, I very often listen to Iron Maiden’s “Somewhere Back In Time”)
