Hi April!
In our latest instalment of our “Meet The Team” blog series, we’d like to introduce April, our smiley Marketing & Content Coordinator!
April joined the team back in September 2021. Her role at Telescope is quite varied – she’s the go-to girl for everything from managing social media, to writing and planning our marketing/website content, managing our sustainability and charitable efforts, and (very importantly) organising the Christmas do.
She’s also been known to pitch in and help our digital team with content population and making videos on some of our projects.

"I absolutely love working at Telescope - my role was entirely new when I was appointed, so I've really been able to get stuck in and make it my own! I'm the kind of person who is happy to give anything a try and expand my skillset, so I really enjoy working at a company that provides so many different creative services and pitching in to help others when they need a little extra manpower (or womanpower?!) The team here are super friendly, and I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. It really does feel like I've been here longer than 8 months!"

One of April’s favourite parts of her role is devising our annual marketing and staff engagement activity, and finds it really rewarding bringing it all to life throughout the year. She loves to put a smile on peoples’ faces!
When she’s not at work, April loves to chill out with her cat and her husband at home, enjoys a slice of cake and a cuppa, and likes to travel the world (though the pandemic didn’t make that hobby easy)!
5 Questions for April...
How do you take your cup of tea?
Yorkshire Tea Gold – strong “builder’s tea” style, and no sugar. Ideally in one of my silly mugs with Mr Blobby or Baby Yoda on.
Do you have any unusual hobbies?
I wouldn’t call it a hobby as such, but outside work I spend most of my free time planning weddings! I have had my own events business since 2016, and I absolutely love it. I also love DIY – one of my favourite projects recently was laying a parquet floor in our living room.
What 3 items would you bring to a desert island?
My husband, Mungo (my cat), and a big fridge full of Coca Cola – probably a boring answer!
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
It’s hard to say, as I’m a bit of a travel addict! I love the beauty and solitude of Iceland, but the place I’ve probably felt the most at home is Copenhagen or San Francisco. One day I’m hoping to get to Tokyo, and I’m confident that will probably top the list as my favourite place when the time comes!
What’s the greatest album of all time?
I love music, so this is difficult… But it has to be “In Evening Air” by Future Islands. I could never get tired of listening to it!
