Well, you’ve made it through the dark nights and chilly winter weather, and FINALLY spring is here!
With the change of seasons, comes the new financial year, and the period to reassess, rebudget and reimagine.
What are your priorities going forward? What’s been working for you – and equally as importantly, what hasn’t? What other routes are there to explore with your marketing?
Here’s some thoughts from our team on how you could give your marketing a spring clean…
Tips to spring clean your
Postage Costs
“Postage has always accounted for a large proportion of the cost where direct marketing campaigns are concerned. When was the last time your audited your postal services and tariffs? Doing this is so important, as it makes sure you get the most from your budget!
Did you know, we offer a postal optimisation service? We can audit your pack formats, weights, tariffs and postal service providers and align them to the most cost efficient method to communicate with your customers – simple adjustments can make a real difference! There are savings to be made all over the place but the key is knowing where to look!
In addition to the above, a range of incentives are available to assist with the cost of mailing. These incentives can return up to 20% in postal discounts which is not an insignificant sum!”

Creative Design
“Keep up with latest trends/events/special dates (for example Wordle, Wimbledon or Easter). You could theme campaigns (or temporarily update your logo) based on whatever is in the public interest, especially if it aligns with your/your customers’ own values and interests. This helps keep your brand fresh and look up-to-date.
Follow your competitors’ activity; you may be missing a trick. It’s easy to be so focussed on your own brand that you forget the other companies competing for the same pot of gold!
Finally, listen to your customers! What is of importance to them? Creating a survey asking key questions can help keep your brand on point and relevant.”

Tips to spring clean your
Website
“Mobile phones count for around half of all web traffic! Have you checked recently to see if your website is mobile friendly?
Having effective ‘Call To Action’ (CTA) buttons on your website is vital. Do you have enough to ensure your visitors are taking the actions you want them to (such as contacting you, or booking a consultation)?
My final tip – If you’d like to inject more personality into your website, reviewing your “About Us” or “Meet The Team” pages can be a good place to start. A live chat function can also be a great way to get people chatting to you and generating leads!”

Eco Credentials
“Thanks to the efforts of many fantastic minds (hello Mr Attenborough!) polythene wrap for mailers and magazines is pretty much a thing of the past. You’ll have seen a lot more traffic through your letterbox ‘wrapped’ in paper in recent times.
Have you considered ‘wrapping up’ your DM as an alternative to polythene, envelopes or naked mail? In addition to the environmental benefits, there are a number of advantages (in terms of print processes, personalisation/variability and postal savings) that could either save money or add some real punch to your proposition!”
