On Saturday 23rd September we challenged ourselves to take part in the Forget Me Not Hospice Dragon Boat Race, at Pugneys Country Park in Wakefield.
Dressed as pirates (there had to be a tenuous Telescope link somehow!) our team, plus family and friends, took on three fast-paced paddles throughout the day. Which, we’ll be honest, was even more difficult than we anticipated!! On the day, we also ran a fundraising stall with a popular “guess the number of Skittles in the jar” contest.
We’re proud to have raised a total of £675 for the charity through sponsorship and entries to the fundraising stall.

We are looking forward to taking part in the Forget Me Not Dragon Boat Race in 2024 (and undergoing some much-needed training)!
We’ll also be supporting the hospice further by taking part in volunteering days, other fundraising activities throughout the year, being a part of their 99er Business Club and donating the profits from our office tuck shop!
If you’re looking for a fun day out in Yorkshire, we’d highly recommend taking part, or even just coming to watch the races and enjoy the stalls – it’s a really great event!
