Mortuary Solutions
Website & Catalogue Design/Production
Introduction
Introduction
The Brief
In Summer 2021, we were appointed to design and produce a product catalogue, which brought together the Mortuary Solutions offering in one easy to navigate brochure. This brochure also needed to be printed to a high standard.
Family company values are of the utmost importance to our client and we needed to ensure this was evident in the designs we produced. Through discovering the clients needs further, we collectively decided a total brand refresh and logo design would help in furthering their goal of creating a fresh, contemporary look.
The Challenge
Before our studio came on board, the client had been using separate product info sheets, however this was proving to be slightly clunky! Moving forward, the aim was to display everything together into a single, more consistent, branded piece.
Mortuary Solutions’ products are often available as bespoke ‘made to measure’ design (which is a key USP for the business), however this means a more in-depth explanation of the options were required on certain pages. Keeping this visually simple and easy to understand was key!
The Solution
Our first port of call was looking at the logo and looking at ways to update the rest of the brand identity. We created a new logo which retained some of the hexagon-shaped elements that the client wished to keep , and also added an overarching strap-line which could be used in tandem with the logo. We developed and brightened up the brand colours, to give the desired vibrant and clean look. Many of the Mortuary Solutions products are crafted from stainless steel, so we looked to use blue and grey which complemented the imagery.
We then looked at the format and layout for the new brochure, and ensured the product information was displayed in a digestible, consistent style throughout. The company USPs were condensed into a number of quickly recognisable symbols, which could also be woven throughout the catalogue, alongside the company values and calls to action.
Further Work
Our client was so pleased with the branding and catalogue work, we were brought on board to rebuild their new website!
To bring consistency, our digital team repurposed the catalogue design elements (including the logo and colour palette) for the website, whilst keeping in mind best practice for UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience for those not down with the digital lingo)! We developed the design with the client until it was completely perfect for their needs, and then built the new site using WordPress.
"Having worked with Telescope around 8 years ago in a previous role, it was an easy choice to want to work with them again. The whole team at Telescope are personable, approachable, with a can do attitude. What impressed me most is that they listened and fully took on board the objectives and core principles we wanted to achieve, they give clear sound advice with solutions to achieve a high quality outcome. We were so impressed with the rebranding and our new brochure that we had to get them to do our website to get that up to the same high quality, within a few months it is quite clear to us the additional work we are getting because we invested in Telescope's services."
