Following our support of Leeds Children’s Charity in 2022/2023, we’re delighted to announce our Charity of the Year for 2023/2024. Our charity of the year is voted for by our team, and so is always a cause which is close to our hearts.
From June 2023, we’ll be focusing our efforts on supporting the wonderful Forget Me Not Children’s hospice, based in Huddersfield.
The hospice supports children with life-shortening conditions, their families and families living with the loss of their child across West Yorkshire. Annually they require £4.5 million to operate, which is largely funded by the public.
“Forget Me Not Hospice are an absolutely incredible charity, and a real place of warmth and solace for so many families in Yorkshire.
I have experienced first-hand the support they give to children with life-shortening conditions, and to parents like myself who have lost their children. It was absolutely invaluable in our time of need, and provided us with so much comfort.”
– April, Team Telescope
The hospice provides nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory making, end of life care, bereavement support and counselling. They work tirelessly to help families make the most of every moment they have together. They support families via their purpose-build hospice “Russell House” in Huddersfield, via their Hospice at Home service, and in hospitals across West Yorkshire.
We are looking forward to supporting Forget Me Not Children’s hospice by taking part in volunteering days, doing fundraising activities throughout the year, being a part of their 99er Business Club and via the profits from our office tuck shop!
