Team Telescope: Welcome to the Team, Saba!

In November, we were very excited to add a new Project & Account Manager to our expanding Digital Team, and we’d like to introduce you to her…

Hi Saba!

Before joining Telescope, Saba worked in the fast-paced world of e-sports and wholesale distribution in the video gaming industry. Before this, she graduated in product design and worked in web development. The opportunity to get back into a STEM role, and one which is so hands-on was especially attractive to her.

Day to day, she works with our web developers, facilitating and delivering digital solutions. We’re so glad to have her on the team!

“My first few months have flown by! The office has a very open and relaxed atmosphere; everyone is kind and always ready to help. I really enjoy the opportunity to work on different projects and learn something new every day!"

Outside of work, Saba has a busy family life, and also loves to bake (you can see her amazing cakes on Instagram at @itcakesmehappy!)

Another of her hobbies is making soap, which she started just before the pandemic. Saba says: “With baking, the result is delicious, but soaping – especially if using the traditional methods with hot oils and lye – can be a tad dangerous! I had a bit of a dilemma on my hands trying to keep the supplies for each separate. But I have plans for a ‘soaping shed’ in the future! My soaping hobby is on hold until then…”

5 Questions for Saba...

When you’re not at work, what do you like to get up to?

I love the outdoors and go for long walks, hitting 10k+ almost daily. I also volunteer with a couple of charities, both in the UK and internationally.

What 3 items would you bring to a desert island?

My handbag (I’m usually that go to person who will probably have the random most useful things in there…bit like Mary Poppins!) and then a sun hat and a strawberry Daiquiri.

If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mum’s red lentil dal with rice and a dollop of homemade mint, chilly and coriander chutney – really healthy and soooo good!

Where’s your favourite place in the world?

I have a few favourites and like places steeped in history- where the walls have seen life pass by. My top 2 are Rome and Paris

If you had to do karaoke, what song would you pick?

Depends on my mood… I’m feeling old school 90s today!
