Hi Andy!
Andy has been on the team for almost 5 years now, so he probably needs no introduction to many!
His role at Telescope is “Creative Artworker”, which means he spends his days creating or updating artwork (for branding, stationary, brochures, catalogues, iFlipbooks) and also creates videos as well.
As an experienced designer, he gets great enjoyment from advising and working with clients to achieve the best possible end results for them.

“Some kids wanted to be a fireman, a space man, or maybe a doctor, I wanted to be a… Disney Animator. I was good at art and I liked computers so did a computer arts course in Sheffield. This opened my eyes up in to the world of graphic design. My main direction was 3D modelling/animation but was a hard career to get into. After graduation, general graphic design was much easier to get experience in and thus my career path was chosen.”

One of Andy’s favourite projects to date was with car manufacturer Ginetta. Recently he was tasked with creating a trophy design for 2022. This was quite an unusual request for our studio, but Andy took it in his stride, treating it like any design job, going through the general design work flow of research, design, output. There were many challenges to overcome, but he (and the client!) loved the end result.
When he’s not at Telescope, he’s often found keeping his two kids entertained, maintaining his tropical marine fish tank (one of his big passions!) or working on his garden and vegetable patch.
“Working for Telescope is great. I’ve been here almost 5 years and cannot believe how much the company has grown and evolved. The balance between looking after both employees and clients is spot on, and I think it shows throughout the office. If Telescope was on a tropical island it would be the perfect place to work!"
5 Questions for Andy...
How do you take your tea?
I’d pour it down the sink and get a nice strong coffee instead 😉
What 3 items would you bring to a desert island?
Erm…. A boat?! No, a snorkel, fishing rod and load of vegetable seeds.
What’s the greatest film of all time?
Avatar – This film gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. I have so much admiration for this film in different aspects. James Cameron’s vision and detail is just jaw-dropping. Then there is the 3D effects team that brought his vision to life……WOW!
Do you have a party trick?
I can talk like Gizmo from the Gremlins film (my kids go mental for it)!
Tell us a random fact about yourself
At the age of 13 I completed my grading in Shotokan Karate to become a 1st dan black belt (big shout out to Sensei Paul West, and for my 1st Dan Sensei Keinosuke Enoeda)!
